The University of Texas at Tyler School of Nursing is seeking an Associate Dean for Research to advance the school’s mission ‘to excel as … scholars in a caring, learner-centered, strengths-based environment’. This newly created position is one of several exciting developments taking place at the University of Texas at Tyler. Following a merger with the UT Tyler Health Science Center and creation of a new medical school and Health Affairs Division, the Associate Dean for Research will have the opportunity to develop the new office of research for the School of Nursing.

Reporting directly to the Dean, the Associate Dean for Research will help foster an environment of inquiry and scholarship, shape the School of Nursing research priorities, mentor faculty, identify potential funding sources, and build a team of nurse scientists during this time of immense growth and change.  The Associate Dean for Research will work closely with the Office of Sponsored Research team that includes grant writers, pre and post awards support, specialists staffing, and statistical and methods expertise. The Associate Dean for Research will also work closely with professional colleagues across the campus to support interdisciplinary research and will have dedicated administrative support.

Successful candidates will be self-motivated, creative individuals with an established program of externally funded research. A doctorate and relevant teaching experience are required. This position is eligible for the rank of associate or full professor, depending on qualifications. Applicants may be eligible for an endowed chair.
