Everyone wins with the expanded number of university members and students served. It’s an easy way to help grow the community, while putting a bit of money back in a member’s budget.

Current member institutions can receive $1,000 credit towards next annual dues per referral.

How does the program work? 

  1. Current member submits online referral form to NEXus to act on for follow up and to record.
  2. New potential member records who referred them on their institution’s member application form.
  3. NEXus will keep a master list of referral forms received and new member applications where a referral is identified.
  4. Once a new member pays their first-year’s due, the credit will be applied to the current member for next year’s dues.

Program Rules & Details:

In order to be eligible for current member discount, 1.) The current member must have completed a referral form noting the new potential member, and 2.) The New member must identify referral person and institution on the application form. This is considered the final word, no additions or changes can be made.

Current member discount is applied after new member submits completed MOU, receives NEXus executive board approval to join, and pays their first-year full year of dues (not a prorated portion for partial terms). A letter detailing the incentive earned will be emailed to the referral and dean of referring member university.

If more than one current member is recorded as referred (both by referral and referee) the fee will be split (i.e. $1,000 split between two institutions at $500 each).

  • Only members in good standing whose dues have been paid in full for the current academic year are eligible to refer.
  • Discount is not retroactive, and no actual cash is distributed.
  • Discount cannot be combined with any other offers or promotions.
  • Prior members are not eligible for referral program.
