The University of Utah and the University of Colorado are offering two great courses for Spring 2018.

NURS 7200 The Discipline of Scientific Writing

Instructor: Nancy Lowe, PhD, CNM, FACNM, FAAN

Focus: Concentrating on clear, logical thinking as the most important element in manuscript communication, students will develop the discipline of writing by focusing on writing roadmaps, precision and concision of words, and common writing pitfalls in the context of expectations for scienti?c publishing.   

Many students have papers accepted for publication as a result of the work in this course.

NURS 7209 Individual Interviews and Focus Group Research

Instructors: Jan Morse  RN, PHD, FAAN and Lauren Clark RN, PHD, FAAN

Focus:  Learn about different types of interviews and focus groups that meet distinct purposes, and select the methods that best align with your needs. Critique the options you and your classmates select. With background reading, move to hands-on practice. Write an interview guide, conduct a research interview, and facilitate a focus group. Feedback and consultation will help you tailor your interview guide, develop appropriate follow-up probes, and answer your research questions.
